Escondido Humane Society needs help

Betty sends this from the Escondido Human Society:

We have ongoing needs for canned cat food, canned dog food, rubber Kong toys to aid in stress reduction, towels, and paper towels. Due to the high number of animals in our care, and the number of residents in our area who have lost their homes and need pet supplies to get them through, our supplies are drained quickly. If you would like to make an in-kind donation for the animals, all pet supplies are still gratefully accepted. Photo taken on Thursday, October 25 of one of the many animal evacuees in our care. Help the smallest victims of the recent wildfires - the animals. Support the Fire Fund at the Escondido Humane Soicety with a tax-deductible gift, and help the animals most in need. Your gift will care for the animal fire victims at our no-kill shelter and will support the veterinary care, rehabilitation, sheltering, and re-homing efforts for companion animals affected by the wildfires.

We are also in need of foster homes and supplies…see below for ways that you can help create a brighter future for animals in need during this especially challenging time. The Adoption Center at the Escondido Humane Society was closed and converted to an emergency center for animals abandoned or displaced by the fires. These puppies were surrendered to our care by a family who lost everything in the fire. Here’s what you can do today to help the animals affected by the firestorm:

-Mail a donation to the Escondido Humane Society, 3450 East Valley Parkway, Escondido, CA, 92027. Please designate “Fire Fund” on the memo line or include a note letting us know that you’d like to help the animals affected by the fires.

-Call our donation hotline at (760) 888-2240 and make a gift to the Escondido Humane Society’s Fire Fund. This will have a direct, immediate impact on the animals most in need. If we miss your call, please leave a message so we may return it. As of Friday evening, we remain on emergency operations, so nearly all available staff are devoted to direct animal care. Your donations are especially important right now.
